Hello @jguilford81
Please go to the Virtual Environments -> Virtualization Providers -> click your vCenter -> Certificates tab. Then select "Trust all certificates" and save. Perform inventory synchronization again and check the backup.
Hello @branes
What do your backup retention settings look like? With what parameters is NFS shared? Does the storware node have full access to this NFS resource? You are sure that nothing changed in the DataDomain settings in the meantime?
Hello @kirkscollision
Sorry for the late response time, I hope you are still interested in our solution.
I'm not sure what installation you're asking about. The error occurs while installing our software or XCP? Please provide more information and we will try to help.
Hello @sangram
If you select an interval schedule, the backup will be performed only at selected hours in accordance with the frequency.
For example:
Window start: 6:00AM
Window end: 10:00AM
Frequency: 60min
The backup will be performed at 6,7,8,9,10.
Perhaps the Time type with specific hours when the backup must be performed will be better in your case? You can set specific times when the backup should be performed.
Hello @carvalhoiv
Please tell me where is your backup destination located? Is this some local or remote resource? Can you show permissions for /vprotect_data and mounted resources? What is the exact version of vprotect packages? Please send the result of these commands:
rpm -qa | grep vprotect
ls -l /
ls -l /vprotect_data
df -h
Are you able to manually execute this vp_backup_postgresql_remote.sh script? Does the backup of the internal vprotect database work properly?
@carvalhoiv it could also be a network connection problem to oVirt manager or its hosts. To connect, we require two ports open on the firewall: 54322 and 54323. Please make sure that these ports are open on the oVirt manager and its hosts.
Hello @user
If you still have this problem, please send us the full DEBUG logs of this operation (server and node logs). If you cannot attach logs to this thread, you can put them somewhere, e.g. OneDrive or similar, and send the link.
Here is the documentation on how to switch logs to debug: Logs in DEBUG
@grover I see in the sent logs that you have a CDROM with the centos system image connected to this virtual machine. It's possible that this is the problem. Please disconnect the CDROM drive from the virtual machine, perform inventory synchronization in SBR to be sure and then try to make a backup.
@grover please set the server and node logs to debug mode, backup again and then send me the complete logs from /opt/vprotect/logs. Here are the instructions on how to change to debug mode: DEBUG MODE . If you do not want to send logs here, you can send them to my email: lsroga@storware.eu . Please only let me know in your email that you are from this forum thread.
Hello,
Does this problem still occur?
If so, I suggest updating to our latest version 6.0 which includes some fixes and improvements regarding KVM.
Below is a link to our documentation:
Remember to update both server and node. Before updating, make a backup of your database in case of issues after updating.
Hello,
Can you give us information on how you define disks in KVM? Please send a fragment of the disk configuration of an example virtual machine.
@tanawat do you have the same error during backup?
Can you send the log from Node (/opt/vprotect/logs/node_name/vprotect_daemon.log) and from vmware service (/opt/vprotect/logs/vmware/vprotect_vmware.log) ? We need log just after the backup.
@nsniko777 Can you use HTTP only for the test? What port do you have set for the API in OpenNebula? Can you try connecting via HTTPS to the default API port 2633? For example:
https://192.168.1.2:2633
@tanawat Have you tried reboot the entire environment after the update? Is the /opt/vprotect/.vmware/requests folder accessible and has vprotect:vprotect permissions?
Hello!
Good to hear that you like our solution. Of course, we also support the backup of single ESXi instances, without using vSphere. Unfortunately, it's hard to say now why you couldn't save these ESXi settings. If you have this problem again, please send us a screenshot of what it looks like and, preferably, the logs from the /opt/vprotect/logs directory. It's probably just a configuration issue.
Hello,
If you are currently using version 5.1.0, I recommend updating to 5.2.0 first and then to 6.0.0.
The latest packages are available on our public repository: Public repo
Update instructions can be found in our documentation: Upgrade Docs
There were a lot of VMware-related fixes between these versions. If the problem still persists after the update, please let me know.
First, I suggest checking if the vprotect-vmware service is working properly. You can check it like this:
systemctl status vprotect-vmware
You can post the result of this command here.
Also try just to restat it:
systemctl restat vprotect-vmware
If that doesn't help, try to create this path and then rest art service:
mkdir /opt/vprotect/.vmware/requests
systemctl restat vprotect-vmware
Hello,
We need more information:
Is inventory synchronization working properly?
What configuration do you have? Are the server and node on the same machine or do you have a remote node?
What version of vprotect-server and vprotect-node do you have installed? What version of ESXi are you using?
Can you post a screenshot of the entire error?
Hello,
Unfortunately, at the moment it is not possible to backup only organization sites. You can use Auto-assignment to automatically back up new sites, but all sites will be backed up. We are considering changing this in future releases.
